IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. (WLUC) - The Michigan State Police, Iron Mountain Post is looking for volunteers to assist with the ‘Angel Program. This program allows a person struggling with addiction to walk into any post and ask for assistance, without fear of trouble.

Volunteers respond to assist troopers with finding treatment options, and transportation of the participant to a treatment center. This program is supported by the police assisted addiction and recovery initiative.

"Well with the volunteers, they play a crucial role in coming in. We're looking for somebody who wants to help, they're empathetic, you know, and they can be there to assist,” said Trooper Geno Basanese, from the MSP Iron Mountain Post.
